I like to untangle
strings...
ABOUT ME :
Hi,
I’m Kari,
a creative thinker, marketing process untangle(r) and someone who’s always been fascinated by the way we communicate with each other.
Growing up, I struggled to express how I felt with words. Anxiety quietly influenced how I saw and interacted with the world and for a long time I didn’t have the language for it.
But what I did have was a pencil and some colours.
I guess my first experience with Graphic Design was at a young age looking through the thick folder of business cards my Dad had gathered. I couldn't believe how many people he knew! (Bless that young soul!) From there, I found comfort in drawing, creating and turning ideas into something people could see, not just read or hear. I won a couple of art competitions, sold my first ink print at 12 (at an exhibition) and was honoured with the Mariza Wantinaar Award for Art in high school. Through that, I realised creativity didn’t have to mean anything to anyone else — it was my way of making sense of things.
Later, as I moved into marketing, I discovered how psychology shapes the way we communicate in business too. The marketing world was packed with information overload, jargon and clutter and I found my niche breaking it down into clear, useful, human things people could actually connect with.
(whether through a campaign, a visual or a process).
Alongside that, I’ve always had a bit of a maths brain. Data fascinates me; not the spreadsheets themselves but what they tell us and how they help guide better (calmer) decisions when everything feels messy. So having the information you draw from is something you should trust to hold your back when you are taking those directions.
why this space exists:
This website is a reflection of both those sides:
-
A creative outlet for the projects, commissions and visual work I still love to do.
-
And a space for untangling marketing processes and messy CRMs, helping businesses find a little more clarity and calm in the chaos.
I’ll be sharing insights, resources and useful things here bit by bit. It’s a work in progress (aren’t we all?) but I’m hoping it’ll be a home for people who like creative, thoughtful ways to make work simpler and communication better.
Thanks for stopping by. You’re very welcome here.
